A story of freshness

our story

In 2017 I had finally had enough. As a mechanic in northern Vermont my hands where always dry from the constant hand washing and solvents that I use daily. My knuckles would be dry, cracked, and bleeding in the winter. I'm not the kind of guy to use lotions. There had to be something else I could do.

This is when I learned that most commercial soap companies strip the glycerin from the soap, then they sell it to you later in a moisturizing product. In fact a lot of what we have come to think of as soap is actually a chemically produced detergent not a soap.

With this information I decided to try some soap made by a local soap company. My wife and I also tried their body butter and deodorant. The soap worked but I was not impressed with the lather, my wife liked the body butter but it was hard and only came in small sizes and the deodorant was a joke in my opinion. I knew I could do better.

So I bought a soap mold and some oils and lye and did a lot of research. My wife really loves when I get passionate about something and start to research it. Anyway after countless articles and forums and videos I felt comfortable that I could make a bar of soap and not melt my families skin off. Low and behold it worked it actually worked and to my surprise it was actually good. The more I used it the less my knuckles bled and after about a month I could definitely tell that my skin was softer. It was at that point that I started to make my wife some body butter and she really liked it. It was light and fluffy and didn't leave her skin greasy.

Over the last few years we given our soaps and body butters to friends and family and they all loved it and told us we should sell it. In the fall of 2020 my wife gave some body butter to a friend and she went completely crazy about it and was insistent that  we should start selling our products to people.

So here we are in May of 2021 selling our pruducts on Etsy and our own store. We are always looking for feedback and trying to improve our products. If you have actually made it to the end of our story we thank you for taking the time and hope that you will order some our products.
